A New Google Pixel 3 XL Unboxing Video Confirms All The Rumors

Will there be anything left for Google to reveal?

Google Pixel 3 XL

Google’s latest flagship is due to make an official appearance sometime in October, but leaks and rumors of both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been coming in thick and fast.

While the availability of the Pixel 3 XL on the Russian black market has pretty much taken away any surprises, a new unboxing video of the larger Google flagship handset has landed on YouTube and leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination.

The professional high-quality video reveals the Pixel 3 XL in all its hi-res glory, along with everything else that comes in the box.

WATCH VIDEO HERE:

First discovered by Android Authority and posted by YouTuber In DIGI, the two-and-a-half-minute video shows off the glass-backed phone, along with the wired USB-C Pixel Buds said to be accompanying the forthcoming Google flagships, as well as the usual charging gear. The video also reveals a Quick Switch adapter and #teampixel stickers.

Once the phone is booted, the video confirms there’s a notch on the large screen and that it’s powered by Android 9. Also demonstrated in the video are the phone’s selfie capabilities.

As for what's reportedly under the hood, the Pixel 3 XL is expected to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

Here's Our Best Look at The Google Pixel 3 XL yet

Google usually announces new hardware in October, but we're getting an early look at the company's upcoming phone thanks to a substantial leak.

upcoming hardware launch -- rumored to include a new Pixelbook, the latest Pixel smartphones, and a smartwatch -- just got a little less exciting.

A Russian blogger for Rozetked got his hands on a Pixel 3 XL and has posted a series of photos of the phone, along with a video showing off the addition of wireless charging to the Pixel line.

According to the leak, the Pixel 3 XL has an all-glass back, a rather tall display with a notch, and keeps the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.

Here's a video posted on Twitter of wireless charging in action:

Can you say, "Finally?" This is one feature related to the Pixel's design I had on my list of what would make up the perfect smartphone.

The writer also posted photos supposedly shot on the Pixel 3 XL to his Instagram account, but there's no way to verify if the photos were truly taken with the unreleased phone. If they were, however, we're in for a treat when the Pixel 3 XL launches.

Other details in the post include the display's resolution of 2960 x 1440, the fact it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and it comes with USB-C wired headphones that look a lot like last year's Pixel Buds. Naturally, it runs Android 9.0 Pie.

Be sure to check out the gallery of the Pixel 3 XL on the RozetKed post.

Leaked Google Pixel 3 XL photos show the phone off from every angle

And there's no headphone port

Just yesterday a couple of images seemingly showing a Pixel 3 XL prototype emerged, and now the same source is back with a bunch more shots, showing every side of the phone.

The images come from XDA Developers member meraz9000, who also confirmed that the Pixel 3 XL has a glass back, suggesting it might well support wireless charging.

It still has the two-tone design that you’ll find on the Pixel 2 range, as you can see in the images, but where those phones had a thin strip of glass at the top then metal below, it looks like the lower section here is simply glass with a matt finish.

The images also show off the speaker grille below the screen, the notch above it, the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and the single-lens rear camera, which sticks out slightly.

Similar looks and no headphone port

You can also see that there are volume and power buttons on the right edge, while the USB-C port and SIM card tray sit on the bottom. These images also reveal that there’s no 3.5mm headphone port.

From the back then, the design of the Pixel 3 XL looks similar to the Pixel 2 XL, albeit with a change in materials, while the main difference on the front is the presence of a notch.

Of course, this is all just rumors for now, but the images look convincing, so most of the big changes might be reserved for the inside of the Pixel 3 XL. We’ll probably find out for sure in October, as that’s when it’s likely to land, alongside the standard Pixel 3.
