Fire closes Flash Memory Summit show

The Flash Memory Summit - ground zero for everything streak in Silicon Valley - has closed down its display demonstrate floor because of a fire.

A fire yesterday at the Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara, Calif., has constrained the conclusion of the show floor. The fire began about Tuesday morning in the Santa Clara tradition focus.

An overhead sprinkler contained the burst.

As indicated by a specialist for the show floor framework supplier, the sprinkler kept running for around a hour prior to laborers found the disaster. The stall underneath the blast was intensely harmed, and there was water harm to a portion of the encompassing corners.

Nobody was harmed.

As indicated by the specialist, the reason for the terminate was an over-burden electrical extension that stall laborers left under a heap of paper handouts. The displays were planned to open at 4pm on Aug. 9 yet stayed shut. They are presently booked to open at twelve on Aug. 10.

The Flash Memory Summit administration discharged an announcement at the beginning of today:

"Because of conditions (a stall fire) outside our ability to control, the displays are shut for tonight," said the announcement. "An ultimate choice on the staying booked display hours will be made at 10am on Wednesday."

As indicated by the laborer, the show floor is probably not going to open Wednesday or Thursday since water entered the underfloor electrical dissemination framework.

THE STORAGE BITS TAKE

The Flash Memory Summit is soundly in the motor room of the glimmer stockpiling upset. Most participants are engineers from organizations incorporating streak stockpiling with items going from capacity exhibits to independent vehicles.

Large portions of the exhibitors are littler organizations offering front line advances empowering cutting edge items. It will be a sharp disillusionment to them on the off chance that they can't show their products to Silicon Valley modelers and designers.

I'm at the Summit and will be by and by disillusioned if the show floor doesn't open. I was anticipating seeing the most recent from the NAND streak industry.
